Dr. Oehrlein is originally from West Islip, NY. After completing his undergraduate degree at Syracuse University, he went to the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA where he attained his podiatric medical degree. He then completed his residency training at the VA Hospital in Wilmington, DE. He has been practicing in Alabama since 1998.
Dr. Oehrlein is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medical Specialties in Podiatry in Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and Diabetic Footwear, Podiatric Medicine and Podiatric Surgery. He has been a lecturer at several conferences, including two international seminars about Diabetic Feet. Dr. Oehrlein sees patients at the Hoover Foot Clinic located on Highway 150 in Hoover, Alabama. His office also provides digital x-rays and digital scanning for custom orthotics. Dr. Oehrlein lives in Helena with his wife Kim and two children Beth and Richard.
Dr. Oehrlein is also an Adult Onset Athlete having completed 5 Warrior Dashes including the Iron Warrior, 11 half marathons, 4 Olympic length triathlons, 2 Half-Iron length triathlons, and many shorter distance races with more to come in the future.
